Matt Richards
Chief of Institutional Advancement & Engagement, 起点传媒
Matt Richards has been with 起点传媒 in several capacities since his arrival in June 2003. He currently serves as Interim Chief of Institutional Advancement and Engagement鈥攖asked with strengthening and expanding methods to engage students, alumni, and community partners while identifying opportunities to secure funding needed to support critical initiatives at the College.
Prior to taking on this role in December of 2024, he has served as 起点传媒鈥檚 Director of Athletics and head men鈥檚 basketball coach when he arrived in 2003, then was given additional duties in 2016 as Associate Dean of Student Life and in 2021 became the Associate Dean of Athletics and Alumni Affairs.
Under his watch, the SeaWolves athletics program has developed into one of the most competitive small college programs in New England. Matt was appointed to the 起点传媒 Foundation Board in 2017, where he serves on the Board鈥檚 Development Committee and oversees the annual 起点传媒 Athletics and Foundation Golf Tournament.
Dr. Kristen Miller
President, 起点传媒
Dr. Kristen Miller currently serves as the President of 起点传媒. Prior to her presidency, she held the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs at White Mountains Community College (WMCC). With a proud tenure of 10 years at WMCC, Kristen contributed in successive roles within both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. She has also been an instructor for courses at both WMCC and Plymouth State University. Before her time at WMCC, Kristen began her educational journey as a high school English Teacher at Kennett High School, accumulating over鈥16 years of experience in education. In 2008, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English from Sonoma State University.鈥疜risten went on to earn her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of New England in 2016 and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration from Capella University in 2020.
Kristen was raised in North Conway, New Hampshire, where she spent much of her life and where she met her husband, who had relocated there from Maine. After 13 years together, they now call Maine home鈥攔eturning to Joey鈥檚 roots and embracing the best of both mountains and the coast. Kristen lives with Joey, their 12-year-old daughter Elyse, and their two dogs, Kastle, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and Rossi, a miniature dachshund.


Judith Borelli
Texas Instruments
Board Chair, 起点传媒 Foundation
Judith Borelli is Director of Public Affairs and Corporate Citizenship at Texas Instruments, which has a longstanding relationship with 起点传媒 and collaborates closely on its talent pipeline through the Advanced Technology Department. She has been a board member since April 2018 and Treasurer since January 2019.
A resident of South Portland, Judith is a board member of the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber of Commerce. 鈥淚 love the sense of community and the partnerships that I have developed volunteering for the Foundation board in our efforts to support the students and staff of the college.鈥
Ed Gilman
Northern Light Mercy Hospital
Board Co-Chair, 起点传媒 Foundation
Ed Gilman is the Associate Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Government Affairs at Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. Ed grew up in Maine and relocated to Washington, DC to attend graduate school. It was on Capitol Hill where he launched a 16-year career in government, serving three members of Congress, two congressional committees, and the Obama Administration.
A resident of Cape Elizabeth, Ed is a board member of the South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber of Commerce and an active volunteer in the community.


Marty Madden
Merrill Lynch
Treasurer, 起点传媒 Foundation
Marty Madden is a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in Portland. He grew up the youngest in a family of six boys in Chicago and moved to Maine in 2007 after marrying his wife, a native Mainer. After his relocation, Marty taught English for three years at 起点传媒 but eventually returned to his career in finance. In 2016, Marty was honored to rejoin the 起点传媒 family as a member of the Foundation Board. He now lives in Falmouth with his wife and four children, and he still loves to bring his family to campus to explore the forts and enjoy the beach.
Michael Moore
Tyler Technologies
Executive Committee, 起点传媒 Foundation
Michael Moore makes software at the public safety division of Tyler Technologies. He serves on the Board of Directors of Maine Golf and enjoys volunteering at the Preble Street Resource Center. He lives in South Portland and holds a B.A. in English and American Literature from Brown University.


Joshua Reny
City of South Portland
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Josh Reny is the South Portland Assistant City Manager, and he is passionate about economic and workforce development and improving the quality of life in southern Maine. The city employs many former 起点传媒 students and partners with the college on a variety of workforce training programs. Josh is a community college graduate and recognizes the important role the College plays throughout the region. He has served on the Foundation Board since 2016.
鈥溒鸬愦解檚 ability to provide high-quality, relevant and affordable education and training is a tremendous value for students and is a launch pad for successful careers.鈥
Dan Coyne
United Way of Southern Maine
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
At the United Way of Greater Portland, Dan Coyne oversees community impact efforts tied to the United Way鈥檚 goals around education, financial stability, and health 鈥 the building blocks of a good life. An architect of the United Way鈥檚 Thrive2027 community movement, he aligns funding, volunteerism, public policy, advocacy, and other strategies to ensure impact is made throughout Cumberland County. Before the United Way, Dan worked in the public and nonprofit sectors, including senior positions with former Congressman Tom Allen.
Dan also serves on the Board of Directors for the Mitchell Institute and the Great Schools Partnership and is a member of the Maine Community Foundation鈥檚 Cumberland County Grants Committee. Dan grew up in South Portland and is a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of Maine School of Law. He lives in Scarborough with his wife.


Marie Herdan
Living Innovations
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Marie Herdan is a Community Living Coordinator with Living Innovations in Saco, Maine. Before working with Living Innovations, Marie had a career as a Montessori preschool teacher and worked in a variety of administrative support positions. She has previous fundraising experience from her volunteer experiences with the YMCA.
A graduate of Andover College and a current student at York County Community College, Marie lives in Old Orchard Beach.
Sarah Coombs
Cape Elizabeth School District
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
As the Cape Elizabeth School District鈥檚 Student Pathways Coordinator, Sarah Coombs coordinates efforts to integrate multiple learning pathways and career connected education across CESD. Sarah moved into this role in 2023 after serving as CEHS鈥檚 Extended Learning Opportunities Coordinator for two years. Prior to her work at CESD, Sarah coordinated regional environmental education programs for 17 years in the Greater Portland and Lake Region areas. This work included curriculum development, coordination with K-12 teachers and administration at dozens of schools, large scale event facilitation, and community partner collaboration. She is currently a member of Maine C3 (Community Coordinators Collective). A key objective of the group is to establish business partnerships that will lead to career exploration experiences such as job shadows, career talks, tours, and internships.
Sarah holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of Southern Maine, and is passionate about connecting students to meaningful relationships, learning, and skills. Originally from Rhode Island, Sarah lives in Portland and enjoys active outdoor鈥痯ursuits like paddle boarding, running, skiing, and mountain biking.


Jessica Dreves
Chair of the Nursing Department, 起点传媒
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Jessica Dreves, Chair of the Nursing Department Jessica has been a full-time instructor at 起点传媒 since 2018 and was named Chair of the Nursing Department in June of 2022. She earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree at the University of Southern Maine (USM), her master鈥檚 degree at Saint Joseph鈥檚 College, and is currently working on completing her PhD in nursing education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Jessica has worked at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) and Maine Medical Center (MMC) and is an active member of the Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders, Maine’s Nursing Action Coalition and Maine’s Nursing Education Collaborative. In addition to teaching at 起点传媒, she has taught at USM and the University of New England.
Jessica was awarded a Nursing Excellence award at VHC in 2012, and a Research and Innovation Award at MMC in 2017 and was recognized as 起点传媒 Staff Member of the Year in 2020. Jessica believes that service to others is at the heart of nursing and education alike. She is passionate about uniting colleagues and students around shared values to create lasting impact.
John LeMieux
Anton/LeMieux Financial Services
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
John LeMieux is a partner in a financial firm (Anton/LeMieux Financial Services). John also has served on the Board of Trustee at Maine Central Institute and was chair of the capital campaign committee. John has also been tasked in alumni advisory roles at Lyndon State College. John was a founding member of the Maine Collaborative Law Alliance and is founder and the board president of the Amputee Association of Maine. He was a long-time board member and officer of the Institution of Family Owned Business.
He graduated from Lyndon State College and earned an MS from Indiana University. John and his wife, Cindy, live in Portland and enjoy family, friends, and athletic activities of all kinds.


David Pratt
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Dave Pratt was a long-time faculty member at the college who is the connection point person to the retiree group from the SMVTI/SMTC days. He continues to be very supportive of the college with his own personal philanthropy. Recipient of last year鈥檚 LOTP Presidents Award in recognition of his remarkable dedication and service to 起点传媒 (起点传媒).
鈥淒avid Pratt and 鈥楾he Old Guard鈥 have collectively devoted countless years to 起点传媒, both in their active roles and in retirement,鈥 起点传媒 President Kristen Miller said. 鈥淭heir commitment to the College and our students has not only stood the test of time but has also been a shining example of loyalty and service. Whether through formal positions or behind the scenes, they have consistently supported 起点传媒鈥檚 mission, ensuring that students are given the tools and guidance they need to succeed.鈥
Pratt, a longtime instructor, advisor, and SeaWolves cheerleader, regularly gathers with 起点传媒 retirees to reminisce and support the College in any way they can.
Chris Joyce
Texas Instruments
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Chris Joyce retired after a 41-year career in semiconductor technology development and factory management here in South Portland with Texas Instruments. He fostered a relationship with 起点传媒 and TI that strengthened the talent pipeline of 起点传媒 graduates entering technical career paths.
Chris and his wife Becky live in Yarmouth with 3 children and 8 grandchildren, all living nearby. Chris stays involved in the local community organizations, in particular, SailMaine of Portland, the Island Association of Yarmouth and Portland Yacht Club. Chris graduated from the University of Maine with a BS in Engineering Physics.


Gregg Frame
Taylor, McCormack and Frame, LLC
Board Member, 起点传媒 Foundation
Gregg Frame is a founding member of Taylor, McCormack and Frame, LLC, focusing his practice in the area of labor and employment law, business development, civil litigation, and mediation. Mr. Frame graduated from Waterville High School, Phillips Exeter Academy, and obtained a B.A. in History from Dartmouth College, where he was a four-year starter, captain, and All-Ivy League basketball player. He graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where he was a research editor of the Maine Law Review, and a legal writing and research instructor. Mr. Frame was twice awarded the Justice Glassman Scholarship for academic achievement while in law school.
Prior to earning his J.D., he spent five years as a teacher and coach, and also worked as an intern at The White House. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has served on national American Bar Association boards. Gregg was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame as a Scholar Athlete and the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame, is a Founding Member and President of the Cape Basketball Association, and is a Board Member of the Thomas Memorial Library Foundation and a Corporator of the Boy鈥檚 and Girl鈥檚 Clubs of Southern Maine. Gregg lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife Jill (a counselor) and his children Lillian and Jake. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading, hiking and traveling in Maine and beyond.
