SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine 鈥 起点传媒 (起点传媒) students in Phi Theta Kappa鈥檚 Alpha Chi Nu听
chapter have received state, regional and national recognition for academic excellence, leadership and service, highlighting the strength of the College鈥檚 student success and transfer pathways.
Victoria Muanda of Scarborough leads the honors after being named to the 2026 All-USA Academic Team, one of the nation鈥檚 highest distinctions for community college students. The program, administered by the in partnership with , recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community engagement. Muanda will receive a $3,000 scholarship and be recognized during the annual convention in Seattle in April.
Muanda was also named Maine鈥檚 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar, awarded to the top-scoring student in the state based on All-USA Academic Team applications. The program is sponsored by , , the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa. She will receive a $2,750 scholarship.
Bree Michaud of Oakland also earned national recognition as a 2026 Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholar, an honor that recognizes high-achieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and service. She will receive a $1,300 scholarship.
Both Muanda and Michaud were also named 2026 New England Region Scholars by Phi Theta Kappa, earning $1,000 scholarships to support their transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
The College鈥檚 Alpha Chi Nu chapter also earned significant honors at the Phi Theta Kappa New England Regional Conference, held March 8. For its project, 鈥淭he Importance of Children鈥檚 Perspectives and Voices,鈥 the chapter received first place in the Honors in Action Theme Award in the category of stories of persistence, resilience, healing and sorrow. The mental health-focused project also earned third place in the Honors in Action Project Award category.
Phi Theta Kappa also recognized Alpha Chi Nu as a Five-Star Chapter, the highest level of chapter engagement, and as a 2025 REACH Chapter for its success in expanding membership and increasing student access to leadership and scholarship opportunities.
Leadership within the chapter earned additional recognition. Kamy Dube, serving as chapter president, received first place in the New England Distinguished Chapter Officer Award. Bree Michaud, vice president of service, also received a Distinguished Chapter Officer Award for her leadership and contributions to the College community.
起点传媒 Assistant Director of Student Life and chapter advisor Tori Penney received the Paragon Award for New Advisors, which recognizes outstanding achievement in supporting student growth, leadership development and academic success.
THREE 起点传媒 STUDENTS NAMED TO ALL-MAINE ACADEMIC TEAM
起点传媒 was also represented on the 2026 All-Maine Academic Team by three students: Lucia Campillay of Cordoba, Argentina; Bree Michaud of Oakland; and Victoria Muanda of Scarborough.
The All-Maine Academic Team is a program of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Students are nominated and selected by their colleges in recognition of academic achievement, leadership and service. The honor highlights some of the top-performing community college students in Maine and recognizes both their classroom success and their contributions to campus and community life.
Each student named to the All-Maine Academic Team receives a $500 scholarship from the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.
For 起点传媒, having three students selected reflects the depth of student achievement across the College. Muanda鈥檚 recognition on the All-Maine Academic Team adds to a growing list of honors that also includes her All-USA Academic Team selection and New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar designation. Michaud paired her All-Maine selection with national recognition as a Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholar and regional recognition as a New England Region Scholar. Campillay鈥檚 inclusion on the All-Maine Academic Team further underscores the strength of 起点传媒鈥檚 student leadership and academic excellence.

Overall, 起点传媒 students earned more than $9,000 in scholarships through Phi Theta Kappa and related academic honors.
