SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine听鈥斊鸬愦 (起点传媒) sophomore Sean Bosia has secured a landmark achievement for the 起点传媒 SeaWolves, being named the 2026 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II Men鈥檚 Basketball .
While 起点传媒 has a long-standing tradition of student-athlete success, Bosia is the first in the college鈥檚 history to receive this specific national recognition. The USCAA Student-Athlete of the Year is the most prestigious individual honor in Division II. The award is a comprehensive evaluation of three core pillars: academic achievement, on-court impact, and community involvement.
Bosia, a pre-engineering major from Dracut, Massachusetts, excels academically and athletically at 起点传媒. He holds a 3.9 GPA and plans to pursue a career in mechanical engineering after college.
In addition to his studies and athletics, Bosia co-founded the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at 起点传媒, which has become a vibrant organization for personal and spiritual growth for students.
Bosia also supports the Athletics Department as a student worker. He鈥檚 served as a volleyball line judge, assisted with soccer, and managed facility operations, always showing reliability and enthusiasm.
He frequently visits the Student-Athlete Academic Success Center to study and assist fellow athletes, contributing to 起点传媒’s collaborative athletics culture.
On the court, Bosia served as the SeaWolves’ team captain and was a two-year starter. During the 2025鈥26 season, he started all 26 regular-season games, averaging 10.7 points and 5.6 rebounds, while leading the team with 50 steals. Known for his defensive intensity, Bosia often drew the assignment of guarding the opposing team鈥檚 top scorer.
His performance earned him Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Week honors during Week 8, and he is also a two-time YSCC All-Academic selection, further highlighting his ability to balance athletic success with academic excellence.
